Google Wave and Cloud computing
Have you seen it. Email that isn’t email or is it web mail with just a little ajax. I’ve had a look around and checked out the wave group, they are all planning all sorts of things. I was looking at a fridge poetry magnet script. Python and java, the wookie and widgets for moodle, wordpress etc. Now this looks nothing special in the way you write scripts server side so every puts things in and ajax layers that appear when someone else adds input. The thing is when you try to do this on such a big scale because everyone is talking, the server is updating and it evolves and doesn’t stop evolving. This could being anything you want to do from just talking to sketch boards to programming. You could have one massive drawing board with loads of people with little parts they are writing, drawing and thinking about. So you would need cloud computing to keep the ball running at top speed. Loads of server around the globe just talking wave, all with a bit and more.
Where does it go from here. This could change the Internet or be an Internet within the Internet. Would you need a website when you can shout to everyone in the world at the same time. You won’t need a search engine as you can get the result from everyone before you have finished the question. Ebay will lose it’s auction as you will have live bidding that will take seconds. You could ask for a package holiday and everyone will give you the best deal. It’s all gone mad.
I’m still thinking about this and would a p2p client added to the browser do cloud computing?
